Qualtrics Transition

IWU will be transitioning from Qualtrics to SurveyMonkey as our institutional surveying platform during the summer. The change will become effective September 1, 2025. We understand that platform changes require adjustment, but we are confident that SurveyMonkey will meet our institutional needs while providing substantial benefits. Your feedback throughout this process is valuable and appreciated.

Why We're Making this Change

This decision was made after thorough evaluation of our campus needs, usage patterns, and budget considerations. SurveyMonkey offers several advantages that will benefit our entire campus community:

Significant Cost Savings
The transition to SurveyMonkey will result in substantial cost savings for our institution. These savings will allow us to reallocate resources to other critical areas while maintaining high-quality survey capabilities.

Comparable Functionality for Institutional Research
For our institutional researchers and faculty conducting advanced studies, SurveyMonkey offers comparable functionality to Qualtrics, including:

SurveyMonkey features an intuitive, user-friendly interface that requires minimal training. One of the most exciting aspects of this transition is that SurveyMonkey will be available to our entire student body. This expanded access will support student research projects, club activities, and academic coursework without additional licensing costs.

Transition Timeline

Date Transition

May 2025

Initial Announcement. We kicked off the transition in May with an email to the entire college, informing everyone about the upcoming switch from Qualtrics to SurveyMonkey. This initial communication provided an overview of the change and what it means for your survey needs.

Summer 2025

Migration and Support. During these months, we're actively working to ensure a smooth transition. Our Early Access users can begin using SurveyMonkey for new projects, and Qualtrics will remain accessible until the end of August for any ongoing surveys or data retrieval.

Sept. 1, 2025

Full Switchover and Qualtrics Deactivation. By the end of August, access to Qualtrics will be fully discontinued. Please ensure all necessary data has been migrated or downloaded from Qualtrics before this date. From September 1st onwards, SurveyMonkey will be our sole platform for survey creation and distribution.

Ongoing

Ongoing Training Opportunities. We understand that learning a new platform takes time. We will continue to offer a variety of training opportunities for SurveyMonkey throughout the year. These sessions will cover everything from basic survey creation to advanced features, ensuring you feel confident and proficient in using the new platform.
