School of Music
Collegiate Choir
Conductor—Dr. Cody Parrott
The Collegiate Choir is the flagship vocal ensemble for the School of Music at Illinois Wesleyan Univ
ersity. The Choir is comprised of dedicated students in all majors at the School of
Music as well as from various other academic disciplines throughout the university
and is joined by audition only. This ensemble is focused on presenting collegiate level choral literature at the highest
level and has been visible both regionally and nationally as an invited choir for
conferences of the American Choral Directors Association as well as internationally
in many facets. Most recently the Choir won the overall Grand Prix at the 2024 Žilina Voce Magna Choral Competition in Zilina, Slovakia.
The IWU Collegiate Choir tours annually and students who accept the invitation to
sing in this ensemble take on this responsibility with great pride. Recent international
performance tours have included Slovakia, Poland, and the Czech Republic and the Choir
tours throughout the United States with regularity. The students who make up the Collegiate
Choir maintain a high academic standard and a rigorous rehearsal schedule both in
and out of schedule class times. Past conductors of the IWU Collegiate Choir are among
some of the most notable names in choral conducting including Lloyd Pfautsch, David
Nott, and J. Scott Ferguson, and the School of Music is happy to welcome the Choir's
fifth conductor, Dr. Cody S. Parrott this fall!
