Summer Camps and Conferences
Illinois Wesleyan University offers over 60 versatile meeting spaces across campus, including conference rooms, classrooms, banquet halls, auditoriums, and more. Our indoor and outdoor athletic facilities are also available during the summer for camps and conferences. Whether you're hosting a small gathering or a large event for youth or adults, we have the facilities and services to meet all your needs.

At Conference Services, we're dedicated to supporting IllinoisWesleyan’s vision and
mission. We invite schools to collaborate with us in creating unique summer educational
opportunities! IWU offers high school students a chance to experience college life
firsthand, from staying in our residence halls to attending special classes taught
by our esteemed faculty. Schools can arrange two-week visits to our campus during
June or July for an immersive and enriching experience.
Example of Program Details Include
- English language courses tailored for international schools
- History workshops focusing on Illinois' history, with field trips to local and national historical sites
- Environmental studies programs emphasizing green energy and urban planning
- Business workshops exploring current trends and economic issues
- American sports experiences designed for international schools
- Excursions to nearby cities such as St. Louis, Missouri, or Chicago, Illinois
- Language School for Kids
All programs include accommodations in Illinois Wesleyan residence halls and daily meals in our on-campus dining hall. Students will have the chance to connect with professionals and current students, providing a true college experience.
Memorial Center
- The Memorial Center features banquet and conference rooms, along with dining options including a cafeteria, food court, and coffee shop. All rooms are equipped with AV capabilities (some with permanent equipment) and conference phones.
Hansen Student Center
- Home to the spacious Center Court event space and three additional meeting rooms. Center Court includes a sound system, shades, projector, A/V hookups, and a Blu-ray player, with seating for 323 in a lecture-style setup on the main floor.
Academic Meeting Space
- Over 50 classrooms are available, with 95% offering full technology integration.
Athletic / Recreation Space
- The Shirk Center, a two-level, 135,344-square-foot facility, seats 2,680 for sporting events in its performance arena and includes four multi-use courts for tennis, volleyball, basketball, and more. Additional features include racquetball courts, a 200-meter track, a training room, a wellness center, classrooms, and other amenities. Outdoor facilities feature football, soccer, and baseball fields, along with tennis courts.
Evelyn Chapel
- A serene chapel with seating for up to 215 people.
McPherson Theatre
- A 300-seat theater designed for performances and events.
Traditional Residence Hall Housing:
- All resident halls are air conditioned, smoke free and have Twin XL beds.
Apartment Style Housing:
- The Gates at Wesleyan is an apartment community housing 96 in four bedroom units. The apartments consist of single bedrooms, double beds and full kitchens.
Linen service is available upon request.
Catering orders from small to large for any event. For casual to elegant get togethers. Sodexo will provide meals and snacks to your preference even to deliver special dietary needs. We offer the opportunity to eat in our Berthold Commons Dining Hall or you can use one of our many venue places for specially catered banquets.
All campus parking is free-of-charge.
From Chicago, IL (Approximately 130 miles) Take I-55 South to Veterans Parkway South (Business 55
- exit #167). Proceed about 4 miles and turn right onto Route 9 (Pekin West exit).
Travel about 2 miles to Park Street and turn right. From Madison, WI (Approximately 200 miles) Take I-39/90 South to Rockford, IL and continue on I-39
South. Turn onto Route 51 South (Business Exit #2) and turn left at the end of the
ramp. Proceed about 6 miles to Emerson Street and turn left at the light. Turn right
onto Franklin Street, left on Beecher Street, and then right on Park Street. From Indianapolis, IN (Approximately 165 miles) Take I-74 West to Route 51 (North Business Exit #135).
Travel about 2 miles to Veterans Parkway North (Business 55 Chicago) exit. Proceed
about 3.5 miles, turn left onto Route 9 (Pekin West Exit). Travel about two miles
to Park Street and turn right. From Peoria, IL (Approximately 40 miles) Take I-74 East to I-55 North (Chicago Exit #127). Follow
to Route 51 South (Business Exit #165A). Proceed about 3 miles to Emerson Street and
turn left at the light. Turn right onto Franklin Street, left on Beecher Street, and
then right on Park Street. From St. Louis, MO (Approximately 160 miles) Take the Veterans Parkway exit (Exit #157A-B/I-55-BL N/I-74/US-51/Veterans Parkway/Decatur/Indianapolis), and proceed and take ramp to US-51 Br N/Main St/Chicago. Turn left (heading north) onto S. Main Street (US-51-BR N). At a corner where there is Walgreens and Kroger, turn right onto Emerson Street.
Turn right onto Franklin Street, left on Beecher Street, and then right on Park Street. Getting to IWU is super easy. Take a train, plane, or bus! Peoria Charter Coach Company serves central Illinois and the Chicago areas. In Bloomington-Normal, Connect Transit bus routes connect the airport and train station to campus. Bloomington's (BMI) Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA) is just minutes from campus and has 6 nonstop flights to/from: Atlanta (ATL),
Chicago (ORD), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP), OrlandoSanford
(SFB), Tampa/St.Pete (PIE). Nearby airports include Peoria (PIA) (45 miles), Chicago
O'Hare (ORD) and Chicago Midway (MDW) (app. 120 miles). Find commercial flights daily
at the Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI), (309) 663-7383. Taxi service and rental cars are available at the airport.
Bus service is available from O'Hare and Midway Airports to the Bone Student Center
at Illinois State University, one mile north of the IWU campus. Bloomington/Normal is on Amtrak's Chicago-to-St. Louis route. The Amtrak (BNL) station is one mile north of IWU campus at 11 Uptown Circle, Normal, IL (309)
