Bike Coop
In February 2015, Austin Aldag ‘16 won $500 from Todd Zoellick ‘00 as part of the
Zoellick Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship to develop a bike coop on campus. A bike
coop is a place where people can learn about bike repair and maintenance, buy simple
accessories, and have their bikes tuned up by volunteers at an affordable rate. The
IWU bike coop is located in the garage behind the IT House, on Phoenix Street just
east of Park Street.
Students, faculty, and staff can bring their bikes to the bike coop for affordable
basic service. It’s also being used to maintain the bike share bikes, and bikes that
have been abandoned around campus are fixed up and sold to buy tools and parts.
Contact Bike Committee Chair Chris Sweet to learn about bicycle maintenance or for help repairing your bike.
