Zandra Siple

Costume Design

Zandra Siple (she/her) earned her BFA in Design and Technical Theatre
Production from Western Michigan University and MFA in Theatre Costume
Design from The Pennsylvania State University. Zandra is part of the Design
Tech faculty and rotates teaching Stage Makeup, Costume Design Rendering,
and Fashion History. As a young artist, Zandra competed in Make it with Wool
sewing competitions, fashion runway shows at the local College and most
recently competed in the Pennsylvania State University’s Graduate Exhibition,
winning first place in the Design category and second place in the Equity,
Diversity and Inclusion category for her thesis “Designing for Marginalized
Voices; the Costume Design for Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s Emilia.”.


Zandra has costume designed IWU’s The Mystery of Edwin Drood (2024), The
Melba Playfest (2024), and The Scarlet Pimpernel (2024). Zandra also was the
guest craft artist for The Duchess of Malfi (2023). Previous collegiate credits
include the costume designs for Emilia (2023, Penn State Center Stage),
Cabaret (2022), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2021), Restoration Comedy (2020,
WMU Theatre), Gem of the Ocean (2019), Waiting to be Invited (2018). Regional
film and theatre credits include The Tenth (filmed, 2021), Lost in Yonkers (2020),
Steel Magnolias (2019), and Into the Woods (2019).


Zandra has spent the summers since 2022 working in the Costume Department
at the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY. First as a crafts artisan then
moving on to assistant manage the crafts department, Zandra has enjoyed
leading in her field.
