Student Senate Civic Engagement Commissioner

Mission Statement: As the Student Senate Civic Engagement Commissioner, my goal is to strengthen and expand our programs, Titan Connect and Titan Votes, to ensure students have a voice on and off campus. I hope to do this through different civic engagement events. I can include and collaborate with multiple registered student organizations and help spotlight outside businesses along the way. I hope to develop deeper connections with our Illinois Wesleyan campus and Bloomington-Normal communities. Through these connections, I plan to uplift our student body through service projects, community involvement, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Duties: The Civic Engagement Commissioner creates and maintains meaningful ties between IWU students and the surrounding community. The Civic Engagement Commissioner will be responsible for the annual "Do-Good" Speaker as well as support or initiate programs that encourage positive, engaged relationships between Illinois Wesleyan students, faculty, and both the IWU and local communities.
