District Requirements for Student Teaching Placements

Criminal History Records Check

Public Act 96-1452 requires student teachers to authorize their placement district to complete a fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRI).

Information about the fingerprint-based CHRI checks is available through your assigned district office. CHRI checks cannot be shared. Candidates student teaching in multiple districts must complete a separate check for each district. Students are responsible for all costs.

Below are CHRI instructions for District 87 and Unit 5 student teachers. Student teachers in other districts should check with the district office for finger-print based CHRI check information and other student teaching requirements.

Illinois Wesleyan will typically hold a CHRI finger-print clinic on Reading Day in the Spring semester.
