Sticker of the Month Club
Do you know Nigel the goose?
This year to help engage students more in the club, the Office of Student Involvement held a sticker design competition. After deliberating over the many unique and thoughtful designs one was chosen to be the April Sticker of the Month. Designed by Sarah Buchmann, this sticker features Nigel the Candian Goose.
For those unfamiliar with Nigel, every year as spring approaches Nigel the goose and his partner Karen appear on campus around early March. This Candian geese couple has gained traction on social media over the past couple of years as students often wait to see them arrive on campus, marking the start of spring. The geese raise goslings in the tree outside of Buck Memorial Library and have been known to chase dogs on campus. Sarah chose to honor Nigel for her sticker, "I've always been a big fan of Nigel, the meme, the legend... And as an icon of IWU, I figured he would be the perfect emblem for my sticker design. I thought it would be funny for him to be "president" since he's already iconic," said Buchmann.
Sticker of the Month Club started back in January 2021 as a passive programming initiative for students during the covid-19 pandemic. The club features new sticker designs every month of the school year to promote activism and Titan pride!
