Education
Jessica Brownfield became a registered nurse in 2011. She received her BSN in 2020 and will complete her MSN in Nursing Education, both from Purdue Northwest University, in 2024. She holds the National Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) and the National Certified Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN).
Biography
Prior to joining Illinois Wesleyan University, Mrs. Brownfield began her nursing career at Decatur Memorial Hospital in 2011. She spent the first 8 years of her career as a staff nurse in medical-surgical nursing, oncology, and stroke care. In 2019 she spent one year as an outpatient hospice case manager. In Spring of 2020, Jessica worked as a travel nurse at Carle BroMenn to work with COVID patients. In 2022, she stayed on at Carle BroMenn Medical Center after leaving travel nursing to work at the bedside with inpatient oncology and hospice patients.
Honors and Memberships
Mrs. Brownfield is a member of Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and the National Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses.
