The Ames Library
Library Whiteboards Policy
Library
whiteboards
are available to support and encourage student learning and engagement.
Whiteboards
may be used by visitors in the building, or library staff may curate a
whiteboard
. The primary purposes of library-curated
whiteboards
are to distribute information and to facilitate the sharing of ideas from diverse
points of view in support of student success, enrichment, and enjoyment.
The Ames Library values intellectual freedom, diversity and inclusion, and a safe and welcoming environment. Content written on whiteboards should not violate the Illinois Wesleyan University Sexual Harassment Policy or the Student, Staff, and Faculty Handbooks. Library staff may remove content that is harmful, offensive, discriminatory, or that otherwise violates campus policies and codes of conduct.
Out of courtesy for other library users, unattended whiteboards may be erased periodically at the discretion of library staff. Although library staff will try to honor requests to save whiteboard content until a specified date (for no longer than 3 total days), we cannot guarantee that the content will be saved and not erased during that period.
