Visiting Assistant Professor International and Global Studies
Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of International and Global Studies (IGS). This position is a 3-year contract. Responsibilities include a 6-course a year teaching load plus coordinating the International Film Series and programing related to the international curriculum. Field of expertise is open to any related IGS field with a preference for interdisciplinary social science and area expertise in Asia or Latin America. Foreign language skills are essential. A selective, nationally ranked, undergraduate, liberal arts college in the Bloomington-Normal metro area, IWU currently serves approximately 1600 students. A successful applicant can expect to instruct 6 small classes of 15 to 35 students per year, including 1 section of Gateway Colloquia, our version of Freshman Seminar. IGS courses include general education courses at the 200-level such as Global Cinema, Intercultural Communication, and International Human Rights. This teaching position is a full time, nine month, on-campus, benefits-eligible position. Benefits include a health care plan, a retirement plan, considerable time off, and access to tuition programs for employees and dependents. The salary range for this position is $56,000.00-$60,000.00 as well as access to a full benefits package.
