American Educational Research Association AERA invites education-related research proposals using NCES, NSF, and other federal data bases. Research Grants are available for faculty at institutions of higher education, postdoctoral researchers, and other doctoral-level scholars. Applications are encouraged from a variety of disciplines, such as but not limited to, education, sociology, economics, psychology, demography, statistics, and psychometrics. |

Council for American Overseas Research Centers The Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) Multi-Country Fellowship Program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Applicants are eligible to apply as individuals or in teams. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center. Approximately nine awards of up to $12,000 each will be given. |

The Domestic Public Policy Program supports projects that will help the public and policy makers understand and address critical challenges facing the United States. An overarching goal of the Foundation's grant making is to support projects that help stimulate and inform important public policy debates. To that end, the Foundation supports research on and evaluation of existing public policies and programs, as well as projects that inject new ideas into public debates. The International Security and Foreign Policy Program supports the research and writing of a book by young scholars and policy thinkers on American foreign policy, international relations, international security, military policy, and diplomatic and military history. The Foundation will award at least three research grants of $60,000 each. Within the academic community, this program supports junior or adjunct faculty, research associates, and post-docs who are engaged in policy-relevant research and writing. |

American Institute of Indian Studies For almost 50 years, the American Institute of Indian Studies has provided funding to pre- and post-doctoral scholars and artists in pursuit of knowledge about India. Research projects can range from anthropology, ethnomusicology, history, political science, religious studies, and urban planning. |

Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation The foundation welcomes proposals from any of the natural and social sciences and the humanities that promise to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence and aggression. Highest priority is given to research that can increase understanding and amelioration of urgent problems of violence and aggression in the modern world. Most awards fall within the range of $15,000 to $40,000 per year for periods of one or two years. |

Social Science Research Council The Abe Fellowship is designed to encourage international multidisciplinary research on topics of pressing global concern. United States Institute of Peace The Jennings Randolph Senior Fellows participate in a great number of activities during their time at the Institute- from publishing Op-eds and academic articles to speaking at conferences and providing testimony on the Hill. They provide an invaluable resource to the Institute during their 10-month stay as experts on their topics and resources for USIP and others in the Washington area. |

Post-Ph.D. Research Grants for up to $20,000 are awarded to individuals holding a Ph.D. or equivalent degree to support individual research projects. Applicants applying for this grant can also elect to apply for a supplemental $5,000 through the Osmundsen Initiative. Applicants must be engaged in research that contributes to anthropological knowledge. Applicants of any nationality or country of residence may apply. The International Collaborative Research Grant (ICRG) supports international research collaborations between two or more qualified scholars, where the principal investigators bring different and complementary perspectives, knowledge, and/or skills to the project. Supplemental funds are also available to provide essential training for academic research participants in ICRG-funded projects (co-applicants, students, as well as other professional colleagues). By encouraging international collaborations, the grant contributes to the development of an international anthropology that values and incorporates different national perspectives and resources. By providing training funds, the grant helps to build capacity in countries were anthropology may be under-resourced. The grants are for a maximum of $30,000 for the research project. |
